About you

You are feeling worried and anxious about your dog. You are thinking about their condition, the chances of recovery, or how to provide them with the best quality of life.

About Paddle Paws
I provide Canine Hydrotherapy to rehabilitate and manage long term medical conditions for dogs. I have an underwater treadmill which is similar to a standard gym treadmill, but it has glass sides so that it can be filled with water. The dog goes inside, the door is closed and it is filled with water to the required level. The water is warm and helps to relieve pain and pressure on joints and muscles so that the dog can exercise comfortably.
The benefits of Hydrotherapy
You will see the improvement in the health and well being of your dog. As your dog’s fitness and stamina improve with the treatment, they should also show signs that they are much happier in themselves and feeling less pain.
Working with Paddle Paws
  • A completed vet referral form must be provided before treatment can be given and must be received at least 24 hours before the first appointment.
  • Payment for the treatment is made at the beginning of each session.
  • Any cancellations or changes should be made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time.
  • A full report of the dog’s condition after each hydrotherapy session will be sent to the referring Vet for their records.
  • If you have pet insurance then check with your insurance provider to see if hydrotherapy is covered in your policy and if so, what the limitations are for either the number of sessions or financial value.
A typical hydrotherapy session
  • At the beginning of each session the dog will have a full assessment prior to receiving any treatment.
  • The client can discuss any concerns they may have or ask any questions throughout the session.
  • The dog will be showered to warm up the muscles and promote blood flow before starting the hydrotherapy programme.
  • The dog will then be guided into the treadmill and will be accompanied by a therapist (where appropriate).
  • After the treatment is complete, the dog will be showered and dried.
