About Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is not just swimming.
It is a controlled, gentle rehabilitation treatment that in some cases can prevent the need for surgery.
All of the dogs I have worked with have enjoyed their hydrotherapy sessions – even the ones that “don’t like water”. Creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere is key for both the dog and their owner.
The warm water makes the dog feel relaxed, increases the blood flow and gives pain relief, whilst the buoyancy properties help to support the body and allow the dog to exercise with less stress on joints, bones and muscles.
The more the dog can exercise comfortably, the more mobile they will become.

My qualifications
I have an ABC Level 3 Diploma in Hydrotherapy for Small Animals. This qualification covers various subjects including:
Medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions
Canine hip and elbow dysplasia
Anatomy and physiology
Water management
First Aid for animals
I continue to advance my skills and knowledge with regular CPD courses throughout the year.
